Your honey house records are stored on your phone. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no server. Nothing you record is sent to us or to anyone else. The only thing that talks to the internet is Apple's own App Store, when you subscribe or restore a purchase.
Everything you record is stored only on your phone: hives and harvests, batches and their lot numbers, jar types and jars on hand, where jars are kept, prices, sales, market days, jars at stores, customers and who is waiting for honey, money spent and jars, lids and labels bought, your labels, the name and picture you put on them, and your year summaries. We have no copy and no way to see it. Deleting the app removes it, so export a backup first if you want to keep it.
Customers are kept by the name, notes, and phone number and email address you type or choose from your contacts, and nothing else. Their contact details stay on this phone, and in a backup you make; they are never sent anywhere. Choosing from Contacts uses the iPhone's own contact picker: Honey House Book can't see your contacts, only the one you pick. Text, Call and Email open Messages, the phone or Mail with nothing sent until you send it yourself.
If you add a picture for your labels, you choose it from your photo library. The app keeps its own copy for your labels and does not look at the rest of your photos.
Honey House Book shares with Beehive Book, our beekeeping journal, and Bee Forage Book, our forage app, on your phone only. Nothing they share goes over the internet, to us or to anyone else.
If Beehive Book is on the same phone, Honey House Book reads the copy it keeps there of your hive names, whether each hive is active, your apiary names, and your harvest dates, weights, moisture and jars filled. Your hives and harvests then appear in Honey House Book without typing them again. That copy never includes locations, addresses, notes, photos or anything about you. This sharing is automatic, with nothing to set up, and happens only on your phone, between the two apps: nothing is sent to us or anyone else. Deleting either app ends it.
If Bee Forage Book is on the same phone, Honey House Book reads the bloom history it keeps there, to show what was in bloom while your bees were making a batch of honey. The bloom history never includes where you saw a plant. Honey House Book only reads it and never keeps a copy: a sighting you delete in Bee Forage Book stops appearing. This is automatic, with nothing to set up, and happens only on your phone: nothing is sent anywhere. Deleting either app ends it.
Honey House Book never writes to, changes or deletes anything in Beehive Book or Bee Forage Book.
Honey House Pro is bought, renewed and restored through Apple's App Store. The app asks Apple whether your subscription is active and checks Apple's signed answer on your phone. There is no server of ours involved. Apple handles all payments; we never see your name, Apple Account or payment details.
Nothing leaves on its own. Things leave your phone only when you send them yourself, through the share button, to the place you pick:
With Honey House Pro, you can add your Venmo username, PayPal.me name, Cash App $Cashtag, a picture of your Zelle QR code or your own payment link in Settings › Getting paid. At a sale, the app draws a code on your screen; your customer scans it with their own phone, and their phone does the paying. Honey House Book sends nothing to Venmo, PayPal, Cash App, your bank or anyone else, and never learns whether they paid: you tap Paid. These details, and the Zelle picture, are kept on this phone and nowhere else, except in a backup you make: a backup includes them, so they come back when you restore it.
Some buttons open a web page or the App Store, for example to get Beehive Book or Bee Forage Book, or to read this page. The page opens in Safari or the App Store, and nothing from your records goes with it.
You can export a backup of everything at any time from Settings, on every plan. It is a file you save where you choose, such as Files or iCloud Drive. A backup holds all your records, including customer names, notes, phone numbers and email addresses, and your Getting paid details with the Zelle picture, so keep it as carefully as the records themselves. Restoring a backup adds back what is missing, including any Getting paid details this phone doesn't have, and shows you what will be added before anything is. Details already set up on this phone are never replaced.
Honey House Book does not copy your records to iCloud by itself. Your phone's own iCloud Backup, if you have it turned on, includes the app's records, as it does for every app.
Apple handles all payments and subscriptions, and the App Store. We never see your payment details.
The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking software of any kind.
You can export everything at any time from Settings. Deleting the app removes everything stored on your phone. We hold nothing about you, because nothing is sent to us.
This app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
We will update this page and the date at the top when anything here changes.
